FRESH PICKED

"Fresh Picked" is a silverpoint drawing on archival silverpoint paper which captures the organic form of the onion.  The artwork was inspired by the freshly picked onions at a local Farmer's Market and is a unique creation done in silverpoint,.

The drawing showcases the natural textures and folds of the onion's papery skin, with some outer layers peeling away.  Varying silverpoint strokes creates depth and dimension, effectively portraying light and shadow.  The composition places the onion off center, with a noticeable focus on the interplay of light and shadow, resulting in a sense of volume and tactility.  The rendering style combines soft shading and defined lines resulting in a realistic representation of the subject.
